> Internal notes for Kenny / Dave: Standard digital-goods refund policy. Items in [BRACKETS] need Dave’s confirmation or fill-in before launch. Recommended: a lawyer admitted in Michigan (or wherever Dave’s business is registered) glances at the full three-document set (this + Terms + Privacy) before the store goes live. Not legal advice; this is template language drafted to industry norms.

Thanks for buying from DaveArmstrongBooks.store. The policy below explains how refunds work — straightforward, with the few exceptions that come with selling digital books.
The short version
We sell digital files (PDF, EPUB). Once a file has been successfully downloaded, the sale is final — there’s no way for us to “take back” a digital book. So digital books are non-refundable after download. However, we offer full refunds in these situations:
- The wrong file was delivered
- A file is corrupted or won’t open in any reader
- You were charged twice for the same purchase
- You purchased a book you already owned from us, and you haven’t downloaded the second copy yet
- A technical problem on our end prevented delivery
- You purchased by mistake and have not yet downloaded any of the files
If any of those apply, write to [service@davearmstrongbooks.store] with your order number within 14 days of purchase. We’ll refund you in full to your original payment method.
What is and isn’t refundable
Refundable:
- Books that haven’t been downloaded yet, requested within 14 days of purchase
- Books where the delivered file is broken, corrupted, or the wrong title
- Duplicate charges for the same purchase
- Honest mistakes we can verify against the download log
Not refundable:
- Books that have been downloaded — once the files are on your device, the transaction is complete
- Books purchased more than 14 days ago, except where there’s a clear technical problem we can fix or refund
- Free books (there’s nothing to refund)
- “Changed my mind” requests after download — the content is yours to keep, but we can’t pull it back from your devices
How to request a refund
Email us at [service@davearmstrongbooks.store] with:
1. Your order number (it’s in the confirmation email you received) 2. The reason for the refund request 3. If a file is broken: a brief description of what happens when you try to open it, and what device or app you’re using
We aim to reply within one business day and process approved refunds within 3–5 business days back to your original payment method. Stripe and PayPal may take an additional 5–10 business days to show the refund on your card or bank statement.
Disputes and chargebacks
If something’s gone wrong, please email us first — we want to make it right, and a quick email almost always solves it faster than a chargeback. Filing a dispute with your card company or PayPal before contacting us can result in your account being temporarily suspended while we work it out with the payment processor. Talking to us is faster for everyone.
Refunds and the honor system
We deliver our books DRM-free as a sign of trust in our readers. That trust runs both directions. If you’ve genuinely received what you paid for and it works on your device, we’re not going to chase down a refund request for “I read it and didn’t love it” — and we’d hope you wouldn’t ask. If a book doesn’t connect with you, the simplest thing to do is leave a thoughtful review so the next reader can decide. We read those.
Subscriptions and recurring charges
DaveArmstrongBooks.store does not offer subscriptions or recurring billing. Every purchase is a one-time charge. If you see a recurring charge on your statement that names this store, please contact us immediately — it would be an error and we’ll resolve it the same day.
Currency and tax
All prices are in U.S. dollars. We’re a U.S.-based seller and our refunds are issued in U.S. dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank may have charged a small foreign-transaction conversion fee at the time of purchase; that fee is set and retained by your bank and isn’t part of what we received, so we can’t refund it. Refunds of the principal amount will return to your bank in U.S. dollars at the prevailing rate.
[Sales tax — to be configured per Dave’s accountant’s recommendation. Some U.S. states require sales tax collection on digital products; the store will charge that where applicable, and refunds will include any tax collected on the refunded purchase.]
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and post the new version here. Material changes that affect existing orders will be honored under the policy that was in place when the order was made.
